Discipline and Procedure (Harry Wong Part III)

"Discipline is not a problem but a lack of procedures and instruction" By: Harry K. Wong

Yes, it's true that discipline is not the problem inside the classroom rather it's the lack of procedure and instruction. First, an effective teacher gives an instruction before he/she can start the lesson and settle everything by making a rule. In here both will benefits the teacher and the students. It guides teachers in the process of assessment and helps the students to keep on track. Instruction helps guide the planning, implementation, and assessment of student learning.

Secondly, procedure is also important to be an effective teacher because it gives the student to ensure their consistency inside and outside the classroom. Procedures are designed to help reduce variation within a given process. Clearly stating, the purpose for giving procedure helps the student to gain cooperation and ofcourse the discipline itself.

And so I can say effective teacher gain the discipline he/she wants for his/her students if the instruction and procedures is given. On the other hand, discipline is important for maintaining a positive atmosphere in the classroom and supporting students' learning.
